Hello, I’m a part-time dressmaker based near the beautiful City of Bath with my husband and two young children. I design and develop my own paper clothing patterns and sew clothes for girls and women, click on Shop handmade to see my creations. I also run a clothing repairs and alterations service and teach youngsters and adults sewing skills.
I enjoy sourcing and stashing fabrics and other textiles for creating clothes, soft furnishings and textile art. When designing clothes, I take my inspiration from my own childhood or classic designs, creating new versions using good quality fabrics and a huge pinch of colour. I aim to inspire you with my offerings, and if you are looking for something bespoke, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I have been sewing for many, many years and am lucky enough to have a dedicated creativity suite in my own home for work and pleasure. I can offer small workshops for children and adults to explore textile art, learn to sew or other crafts, taking advantage of my space and resources.
Do check out my sew-along blog showing the construction of garments using commercial clothing patterns and the gallery has a selection of exciting and creative activities completed by me or my fabulous students young and old.
Thanks for stopping by, Louise.
